Air conditioning

The gaseous refrigerant is compressed to approx. 20 bar in the compressor. This causes pressure and temperature to increase, pushing the refrigerant through the high-pressure line and into the condenser in the cooler. The condenser lowers the temperature by means of cooling surfaces and auxiliary fans. This cooling causes the gaseous refrigerant to change state and become liquid. The liquefied medium goes to the expansion valve and expands into the evaporator in the cockpit. The energy required during expansion is taken from the passing flow of ambient air and cools it down. At the same time, the refrigerant turns back into a gas and the pressure goes down to approx. 2 bar. The cooling medium is then sucked in again by the compressor and the cycle starts over.

Heating and cooling circuit

The cooling system in a combustion engine mainly dissipates heat, which is transferred to the walls of the combustion chamber and cylinder. A water cooler or coolant cooler is usually attached to the front of the vehicle, where a flow of air cools the coolant passing through. From the front of the vehicle, the coolant is pumped back into the engine through hoses using a water pump. The vehicle heating system takes the hot water from the engine cooling. The secondary circuit with integrated heat exchanger serves for heating up the air in the cab.

Heating systems

Auxiliary heating systems serve for heating the passenger compartment of vehicles of all kinds without being dependent on the heat emission of the running engine. They are generally operated directly from the tank with the fuel of the respective vehicle and can either heat the air of the interior or be integrated into the heating circuit via the cooling water circuit of the vehicle.
In electric cars and hybrid electric motor vehicles, the heating energy for the interior must be provided by auxiliary heaters (electric flow heaters), since there is no or very little usable waste heat when using an electric drive.

Air ventilation ducts or air inlets are an integral part of the air-conditioning system. They are designed so as to take laminar and dry fresh air into the vehicle interior without making a great amount of flow noise.

The brake is a technical system for slowing down a motor vehicle. The complete transmission and application equipment is referred to as a brake system. During the braking process, the kinetic energy is converted into heat energy through friction and dissipated, which is why the choice of materials and the cooling of the brake are of major importance.

The chemical energy of fuelis converted into driving power through combustion. Fuels are predominantly used to drive means of transport. Since they also have to be transported along with the vehicle, materials with a high energy density are frequently used.

Chassis / steering engineered by alantec

Active chassis and steering

With an active chassis, an actuator supplies the forces that are otherwise produced passively by springs or dampers. The aim is to reduce rolling and pitching movements when driving around bends (roll stabilisation) or when braking or accelerating. This reduction is usually hydraulic, and in some cases electric.
The electronically controlled steering system assists the driver via the moment support of the power-assisted steering on the one hand, and on the other hand with variable-ratio steering.
